FMLA Regulations Changes
January 7, 2009, 10:00am - 11:30am CST
This webcast is free of charge
In this convenient 90-minute webcast, we will review the new FMLA regulations and help you understand what your organization needs to do to comply with the most important new requirements.
On November 17, 2008, the United States Department of Labor (DOL) published its long-awaited final rules interpreting the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). These new regulations go into effect on January 16, 2009, and include over 125 revisions to the 1995 regulations, which will require significant administrative changes for employers, managers, and employees.
What Attendees Will Learn:
- What is included in the SEVEN new forms and how they are to be used.
- How to administer the new FMLA leave mandates for military-related "qualifying exigencies" and care for servicemembers with serious injuries or illnesses.
- Under what circumstances an employer can and cannot designate FMLA leave retroactively.
- New rights and responsibilities for both employers and employees.
- Revisions in the definition of a qualifying "serious health condition."
- Much, much more!
As with all of our compliance programs, this webcat will focus on real-life, practical application issues,
and not legal minutae. Our goal is for participants to understand how to comply and to be able to immediately apply what is learned. Webcast participants will receive a handout that includes basic information and supplementary reference materials which are a valuable working resource after the webcast.
